imbaaburrrra. for the first time in a while i reeeally miss the otavalo bubble kittykat and i made. the naturalness of ecuador and the simplicity of life: markets, raw foods, walks, runs, reading, researching, painting, and working all our creative energies through our hands. signing out from each day when the sun went down around 730 and waking up with it in the morning, 12 equatorial hours later in the same complete stillness. i miss the itttle tiny things that brought us our happiest moments. 50cent mango day was the epitome of completeness. until, that is, we met coconut man. coconut man blew our world right open when we first connected with his lush fruit. when coconut man aligned with our sight, it was pure synchronicity. from across the plaza we'd spot him and sprint shamelessly to catch up to his bicycle-cart. undoubtably, z best in z whole, whole wide wurrrl.

we were soo well aware that the space in that time and place that we were a part of was soo special. pushing ourselves to live in los pequenos momentitos. in the beginning i can remember thinking that this experience could quite possibly be the most boring time of my entire life but in fact it taught me a valuable lesson in reevaluating what boredom is.

i have a new appreciation for boredom especially now that i live in the middle of london. i sometimes find myself craving that simplicity of life juxtaposed with la natura. casa maya was about figuring out how to be ok with simple. lately
ive been dreaming of climbing imbarura to catch the winds at the top and take huuuge gulps of the fresh, andes aire. i've been thinking about how warm the sun was and how predictable the midday sky would be. clear, bleu, and soo magnetic. the sun was so strong that my freckles would come out just from taking a walk into town, radiating that vitamin d. momentitos.

places and spaces

the natureal.

it gives a soul to the universe
wings to the mind
flight to the imagination
a charm to sadness
and life to everything.
fine music is the essence of order
and leads to all that is just and good
of which it is the invisible
but nevertheless dazzling,
passionate and eternal form

magic exists. who can doubt it, when there are rainbows and wildflowers, the music of the wind and the silence of the stars? anyone who has loved has been touched by magic. it is such a simple and such an extraordinary part of the lives we live.

conjoined minds
watching these
binary central stars fuse together visceral pieces
stellar winds drift views apart
magnetic fields give the impetus to coalesce
eyes see through opposite sides of prisms
as light disperses
reflecting, refracting, retracting
feeling colors inside out
patience of good and bad
letting each others schisms just bee
inside the galactic recycler

in all her parts things grow
between her eyes

upon her nose
around her toes
people strrretch to get closer
bending,
twisting,
turning,

they come running from miles
with baskets in hand
catching the flecks of the
light she sheds
they grow in numbers around her
she is a root
so
bold
her body so extravagant
her mind, our gold
she is,

"this life is what you make it. no matter what, you're going to mess up sometimes, it's a universal truth. but the good part is you get to decide how you're going to mess up. girls will be your friends, they'll act like it anyway. but just remember, some come, some go. the ones that stay with you through everything- they're your true best friends. don't let go of them. also remember, sisters make the best friends in the world. as for lovers, well, they come and go too. and babe, i hate to say it, most of them, actually pretty much all of them, are going to break you heart. but you can't give up because if you give up, you'll never find your soul mate. you'll never find that half who makes you whole and that goes for everything. just because you fail once doesn't mean you're gonna fail at everything. keep trying, hold on, and always always always believe in yourself, because if you don't then who will, sweetie? so keep your head high, keep your chin up, and most importantly, keep smiling, because life's a beautiful thing & there's so much to smile about"
